Reviews and Ratings
Although the room was a little tired looking and not up to the standard of a 4-star hotel, the hotel's location amongst the trees near Windermere provided a perfect setting. The staff were friendly and helpful, but some aspects of the service fell short. The dining options were nice but not outstanding considering the high prices. The facilities were satisfactory.
The hotel rooms were very spacious and provided everything we needed for our stay. While lacking a bit of personality, they had the essential furnishings like curtains, chairs, and a chest of drawers. The service was top-notch with warm, friendly, and efficient staff. The location was fantastic, offering nice surroundings and amazing views. The dining experience was delightful, offering delicious meals and pleasant service. Overall, a great value for money stay with excellent amenities and facilities.
Upon arrival, the room wasn't ready as expected, leaving me waiting in the lounge, but it was beautifully designed with a new bathroom. The heritage connection to Beatrix Potter was evident. The lack of some amenities was a downside, but overall, it was a lovely stay.
The hotel is beautifully located within walking distance of Bowness on Windermere, offering a quiet and secluded atmosphere with lovely grounds. The rooms are not up to the standard expected for a 4-star hotel but do feature a very comfortable large bed, a super shower, and a cozy sitting area. The service, while helpful and supportive, lacked warmth in some areas. The dining experience was exceptional, with outstanding Japanese food options available. The overall value for money is a concern, especially considering the high prices for evening meals, but the finish to our ruby wedding anniversary was truly memorable.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The room, while spacious, offered a view of the car park, which was not very appealing. However, the ground floor room with a wet room was a hit with my boyfriend. The service was friendly and helpful, except for a mishap with spilt coffee during breakfast. The location was surrounded by trees with a view of the lake, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The dining experience had its ups and downs, as the food selection was not as expected for a 2 rosette restaurant. Overall, the stay was comfortable with some room for improvement.
I absolutely loved my stay at the hotel! The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, perfect for a family gathering. The service was top-notch, with staff going above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The location was peaceful with lovely garden views, ideal for a relaxing getaway. The dining experience was good overall, though the scrambled eggs were a bit overcooked. The facilities were fantastic, especially the subtle hints of luxury throughout the public areas.
